From time to time, a business page linked to SocialHP may become disconnected and need to be reauthorized. This usually happens as a result of a network requirement, rather than a problem with your SocialHP account.
These are some of the common causes why pages disconnect:
- The password for the page was changed
- The admin who connected the page lost admin access
- The admin who connected the page has been removed
Although the reasons provided are the most common causes for disconnection, some networks have different requirements or API limitations that can lead to disconnections.
Below are the steps to follow in order to reconnect a business page that you are managing on your desktop:
- Log into SocialHP
- Click on the Settings gear on the Product Sidebar
- Click on the Social Networks tab
- Look for the page under the Managed Networks
- Click the down arrow and select Refresh
- Follow the authentication steps provided by the respective network
When the admin who connected the page lost access or has been removed, a new admin can take over in managing the account.
The following instructions show you how to connect a business page:
- Log into SocialHP
- Go to the Team page
- Click on the +Add Page/Group button on the upper right corner
- Look for the Network and click Connect
Note: Only one Admin can link a page to SHP at any given time. If the page is connected to an Admin, a new Admin can take ownership of it, which removes the connection from the other Admin.
SHP uses Open Authorization (OAuth) which requires only one authorized account to connect the business page.
Important: If a page becomes disconnected, any scheduled content will fail to publish until the page is reconnected.
